[ So if you just happen to be walking through Luceti today, you might spot a girl sitting on the ground next to a tree at the side of the road. Her journal is opened in her lap, and it seems she's rather focused on reading it. See, there's nothing weird about that, but.. she's still wearing the New Feather dress and doesn't seem bothered or confused by the whole 'arriving in another place' ordeal in the slightest as long as she can read. In fact, she probably doesn't even realise she's not back home anymore, or that she has wings on her back. She's also turning the pages at a ridiculous speed, as if she needs barely any time to read a page. It looks more like she's skimming than anything else, but nope, she's actually reading all of that. ... Maybe someone ought to help her out.

Or you might run into her later during the day instead. If you're just standing somewhere around the village, you might find the girl staring at you for a long time, almost as if she's observing you long enough to decide something. After what is probably multiple minutes the girl might approach you a little hesitantly (she's making sure you're not a bully, okay, it's in everyone's best interests), only to quickly bow at you in greeting. ]

Hello. Bonjour. Guten Tag. Konnichiwa. Nihao. Salve. Hallo. [ Yes, she'll just start listing off 'hello's in almost every kind of language known to humankind to you. And if you don't cut her off, she'll continue until she has at least done it in 54 different languages. So better do something about that, yup. ]

[ So sorry, Leon.. At least she seems content now, if that helps? And she is nodding and slowly pattering after him obediently now. Don't worry, she'll be a good girl.. ]

[He's glad that's over. It's too bad he'll have to say it again some other time.

[ She patters after him, looking around her curiously as they go. This place is pretty strange, after all, and.. oh. She seems to notice something, pointing at him. ]

You have wings. [ yes, she's only noticing it just now. and she hasn't noticed her own just yet. ]

[It looks like the winds revealed them. After all, the black feathers were covered by his cape.]

Ah. Those are by the influence of the Malnosso. You will learn more about them in the library. If you haven't noticed, you have them as well. All they are for, are looks.

[He uncovered them as they walked, and flapped them. Something seemed wrong though. The movements were stale and even a little shaky. Although some people may be able to make the movements more natural, he didn't bother practicing because he knows that]

[He's not going to mention what happens when she loses them because she might think he's a bully again or something. The last thing he'd want, is to cause more unnecessary trouble before reaching the library. Besides, she can learn about that from the library.]

[ She peers a little over her shoulder at her own wings, surprised to see them there, even though any normal person would more or less have spotted them now. She carefully touches them just a little before looking at his flapping wings. ]

Wings you can't fly with, huh.. [ She seems to think about it. ] It seems a little sad.

[ She's looking at the flapping though, and she can see it's really not natural. ]

It is. They're a hindrance.

[Believe it or not, this guy's not all that into looks.

By now, they're nearing the library. And because it's in view, he's going to change the subject.]

There's the library.

A hindrance..?

[ Well, even if they can't fly, Kotomi thinks they're sort of pretty. She doesn't mind all that much. But when he changes the subject, her own attention is immediately taken up by the library as well as she gasps. ]

... How pretty..

[This guy will now officially think of this girl as the biggest bookworm he knows. The library pretty? Don't worry. He doesn't know the term "bookworm" anyway.]

[When they got there, he opened the door for her.]

[ She's just going to marvel at all the books. Look how big it is here, much bigger than the high school library.. She's just happily pattering in already, looking like a kid in a candy shop. ]

[To him, she's being ridiculous. Don't mind it though, he thinks a lot of things a lot of people do are ridiculous.
He's just walking in as she would go ahead of him.]

Don't start going off. We haven't even found you a home yet, so I would rather not waste time looking for you.

[No, this place cannot be your home.]

[ aw, but what if she wants to live in the library.. okay, no, she'll just obediently stay with Nagisa and Fuuko. ]

But you don't have to look for me, right? I'm right here.

Let's just find the book that contains information about Luceti.

[He started looking through the 'G' section.]

[ She's not really paying attention again.. Sorry, Leon, but if you turn around you might find Kotomi pattering around still, admiring the bookshelves and all the books on them. ]

[And Leon's just getting the book, "Guide to Luceti."
When he did find it, he really did end up having to look for Kotomi. It wasn't long at least, since she doesn't walk everywhere.]

Kotomi.

[He said as he just found her.]

[ She's still staring intensely at one specific book shelf even as he calls out to her. Apparently she doesn't even notice him (although it might seem like she's ignoring him, but it's truly not noticing) since he didn't say 'Kotomi-chan'. ]

[That was odd... She made it seem as though he wasn't even there. This time, he tries putting more call into it. He made sure not to be too loud though, since this is the library.]

Hey. Kotomi!

[He's still not noticed. She couldn't possibly be playing with him, could she? He walked up to her, standing right beside her. Last chance.]

... Kotomi.

[A pause. It's obvious she's not listening.]

[It took him a few seconds to think of that preference again. You can imagine how much he doesn't like the idea.]

[Sometimes he wonders if it's really worth it. Hopefully, people will understand.]

K... Kotomi-chan...

[ Now she turns her head to the side, as if spotting him just now. See, there's even a tiny smile on her face. ]

Leon-kun, good day. I was looking at these books just now..

Ugh, just take this and read it.

[He said irritably as he gave it to her; looking away embarrassingly. He's never going to get used to it, you know.]

[ She grabs the book, looking a little surprised before skimming over the cover. Then she just sits down right there - in the middle of the library, on the floor - with the book on her lap and starts reading.

At an ungodly pace, really, considering how quickly she's turning the pages. One wonders if she's actually reading all of it, but yes, she is. ]

[What. He's going to be very skeptical about this for a second. But then he realizes this is probably her power. Yep. I mean, other people have powers here, so it's not surprising he would think like that. She's also very fond of the library and easily impressed by every book she sees. It's no wonder she'd read like this.
He doesn't know Kotomi comes from a world where the chance of having powers is next to none, but they might as well be powers.]

[His silence shows he's impressed.
And since she's sitting down, he might as well crouch and observe her reading.]
