Good day, everyone.

[ Kotomi's voice is.. practically the same as usual, aka very monotone and blank, no matter what she's speaking about. At least she's apparently social enough today to actually use the journal to make a post.. ]

I have two important questions to everyone. I couldn't find the answers in books, so I thought maybe someone else would be able to tell me instead.. I tried to look all over for books about it, but couldn't find anything. [ There's maybe the sliightest hint of disappointment in her tone at it. ]

The first would be any more information about "tsundere".. I heard it means someone acts tough and doesn't think they need anything more, but.. any more information would be nice, too.

[ This is clearly important. ]

And secondly, what kind of stories does everyone like..? [ totally not asking in relation to a certain someone, nope. ] I wonder if there's some sort of story that could be fun for everyone, no matter who reads it. Doesn't that sound like it'd be wonderful?

[ After that there's just.. a long pause.. apparently she forgot to turn off her journal after she was done in her obliviousness. ]

Are you often in the library?

Yeah, but mostly on weekends. It's a nice place to go when I'm not too busy with clinic stuff. [He hopes that if he's around there a lot he'll get added to the actual staff, instead of just being a volunteer.] Are you?

I go there every day to sit there and read books. I like the library.. It's a nice place, and quiet, and free from bullies. [ because those apparently are a national threat.. ]

Yes, bullies don't like reading. I'm beginning to suspect they're allergic to the thought of it. [This is Very Important.] I'll be sure to sit and read with you when I stop in, if you wouldn't mind me doing so.

... I wouldn't mind that at all. In fact.. I think it would be a little nice to read together with someone else.

Are you reading anything interesting right now?

Right now? [ ... she pauses for a moment, but.. yup, it's taking stuff literally time. ]

Nothing. I'm just talking to the journal.

Not right now right now, but um... Lately, I guess.

I've read a whole lot of books lately.. Some of them were very, very nice.

What's your favorite genre?

[ there's a pause, actually - as if she's thinking. or daydreaming off, it's difficult to tell with her.. ]

... I like almost any kind of story. But I especially like it when they have a happy ending..

[Happy endings... okay.]

I'm the same way. I've met someone who liked tragedies more than ones with happy endings here, though.... Different strokes for different people, I guess, but who wouldn't want to see a happy ending..?

I don't get that either. A story without a happy ending.. that would be very sad to read. I would just feel sad if I finished a book like that..

He said it was closer to reality, but aren't books a healthy way to escape from reality for a while?

Some people prefer books that can make them escape from reality, while others would like tales to be as close to reality as possible so they can relate better to them..

But.. I think there's happy endings even in reality.

I think that, too. Even heroes have to work for their own.

Huh? Even.. heroes? You mean real life heroes?

[Real life... heroes....]

...Yeah. And the ones in stories have a whole plot to get through, don't they?

Of course. It takes them the entire story to reach their goals.. but that's the fun in reading their adventures and seeing them slowly reach it.

That's right. There's no story without conflict, and life's the same way... I guess.
