Good day, everyone.

[ Kotomi's voice is.. practically the same as usual, aka very monotone and blank, no matter what she's speaking about. At least she's apparently social enough today to actually use the journal to make a post.. ]

I have two important questions to everyone. I couldn't find the answers in books, so I thought maybe someone else would be able to tell me instead.. I tried to look all over for books about it, but couldn't find anything. [ There's maybe the sliightest hint of disappointment in her tone at it. ]

The first would be any more information about "tsundere".. I heard it means someone acts tough and doesn't think they need anything more, but.. any more information would be nice, too.

[ This is clearly important. ]

And secondly, what kind of stories does everyone like..? [ totally not asking in relation to a certain someone, nope. ] I wonder if there's some sort of story that could be fun for everyone, no matter who reads it. Doesn't that sound like it'd be wonderful?

[ After that there's just.. a long pause.. apparently she forgot to turn off her journal after she was done in her obliviousness. ]

Oho! Someone who likes books-...! I approve, definitely! Personally I think the most fun are mystery novels.

Discussing your theories and whatnot with others is always the best.

I've read some mystery novels before, but.. sometimes they're a little scary, don't you think?

I sure do! I think I used to read about one hundred books a year... ihihi...

One hunderd books in a year is great. That means you could read one in about three or four days.. Too bad I've never kept count of how much I read. [ probably like 3 or 4 books a day at the very least.. ]

N-- no.. I don't think that's.. cool. [ 'cool' sounds so weird when she says it. ] It's just scary, the culprits always remind me of bullies..

Ah well... maybe when I was younger I could read it in about three days. I can easily finish a book in a day.

Bullies? What if the culprits have a really good reason for what they did? Betrayal even...!

Betrayal? Did someone betray the culprits..?

Oho! That's just one of the many possibilities in a story, right? The theories that you discuss like that, they're the best.

For example.... let's say you're reading a novel and something catches your eye- ah, is it maybe.... the culprit had been mentioned at the beginning of the story and you're just now figuring it out in the middle of the book? Soon your mind starts to wander and twist theories in your head and before you know it you're just dying to read the ending and tell someone all about it!

That does sound really interesting.. So it's a story that you can talk with someone about as you read it, so you can discuss theories?

Right right! That's the best! Don't you agree? Here, we should read a book together and then do something like this afterwards.

I like any kind of book. [ SHE JUST WANTS TO HUG ALL OF THEM BUT SHE CAN'T ] Non-fiction and fiction.. and then almsot all genres of fiction. But my favourite book is called The Dandelion Girl.

Aaah finally someone as intrigued by books as me...! It sucks when you run out of material to read and find yourself grabbing at any old thing... I suppose re-reading books isn't that bad either.

Will you tell me about that story?

Well, the story starts out a little sad.. It's about a man who's stuck in a marriage he doesn't really enjoy anymore, so he decides to go on a vacation on his own. And during that vacation he makes a walk up a hilltop, and that's where he meets a girl in a white dress with hair that's the color of dandelions. And then they start talking and.. he starts to fall in love with her instead.

[ for a moment she pauses. ]

Whoa why'd you stop? Keep going- it sounds interesting.

[ SHE'S JUST MAKING SURE HE LIKES IT-- Ikki didn't like it and got all grumpy, she doesn't want Battler to do that either!! ]

After that day, the man met the girl at that place every day. The girl says she's a time traveller who came to the past to visit the hilltop. But then, after a few days, she tells him that the time machine is breaking down and that she won't be able to use it anymore.. In fact, by the time she tells him she also tells him that there's only one use of the time machine left. They're very sad, but of course the girl has to return to her own time, just like every day.

And then, the next day.. The man goes to the hill, but the girl isn't there, no matter how long he waits. The next day there's no one either, nor the next day.. The man looks everywhere for the girl, but he can't find her. There's no record of her anywhere. [ for a moment she steps out of the story to comment on it herself-- ] ... Because she's a time traveller, of course.

[Battler has his arms crossed, nodding to himself. Of course, Kotomi can't see this but..... sounds like a pretty messed up story.]

And she never comes back... huh? Aah it's useless, that's just so useless! The poor man never sees that girl again!

Sounds like a good story- but he should really go back to his wife. No telling when one day he'll wake up and he'll no longer be able to see this girl and the one he had married. Enjoyable or not- he liked it at one time, right?

... The story's not over yet.. Because, you see, he does go back home to his wife. And he goes to clean up the attic to sort out his thoughts, and that's when he opens a suitcase in the attic and finds the same dress that girl wore.

So.. then it finally all clicks in his head. His wife is that girl. She went even further back in time with her last time machine use to find him way in the past and fall in love with him all over again, without ever telling him who she was..

And then he goes to pick up his wife from the bus station, and he holds her and happily takes her home again.

... Isn't it a nice story?

[......................................oh. BATTLER STANDS UP AT THAT, SHOUTING!!]

That's amazing! Truly! I like it! I like it a lot! Ahaaaa! A story where the love works out in the end is the best- don't you agree?! Everyone should fall in love, at least once!
